Serenity Med Spa highly trained technicians have over 10 years experience. Our Senior Technician pioneered the spray tan industry and has been a trainer for various spray tan companies. We even designed and manufactured our own spray tan booths for proper ventilation and lighting to provide the most optimal results. We specialize in spray tanning for important events including weddings, beauty pageants, cheerleading competitions, as well as everyday occasions. The process only takes about 10 minutes, and we customize each session with Norvell solution and proper application to provide every skin type with the perfect glow. Spray Tans are the best alternative for a SAFE tan. One spray tan look like the effects of spending weeks in the beds or sun. It’s Safe, quick, and looks completely natural.

Air Bush Spay Tan Directions

Exfoliate with a sugar or salt scrub and loofah. Concentrate on rough patches like feet, hands, elbows, and knees.

Day of (prior to appointment):
Shower and shave, but do not apply any lotions, oils, or perfumes. You may use deodorant. Do not use any exfoliates or shower products with heavy oils.

Time of Spray Tan Session:

Arrive in dark, loose fitting clothing. Your personal choice of spray attire is completely up to you (bathing suit, undergarments, or nude). A trained spray technician will give you a strapless spa robe to wear over your spray attire before your session. Our experienced technicians will be sure to make your spray tan session a comfortable, relaxing, and very professional experience. Avoid wearing a bra or tight fitting tank top for at least an hour after your session. We recommend flip flops to wear home.

Caring for Your Spray Tan at Home:
When you leave your session you may appear to already have a tan. This is NOT your spray tan. This is only a cosmetic bronzer that helps the technician to see the solution during application to ensure even results. Your true spray tan develops under the cosmetic bronzer for up to 18 hours. WAIT AT LEAST 8 HOURS TO SHOWER. Do not be alarmed during the developing period if you appear to dark or have a ruddy appearance. Your spray tan is developing under the cosmetic bronzer. You may apply a light powder to your face to keep from looking oily. The first shower will wash off the cosmetic bronzer and your true spray tan will be revealed.

Human skin goes through a natural skin exfoliation process and renewal itself every 12-14 days. This is why you lose your tan from outdoor tanning, the tanning bed, and spray tanning. Ultraviolet light penetrates and can damage many layers of the skin where as a spray tan just “stains” the first few layers and is completely safe. If your skin renews itself at a faster rate or you use products that accelerate skin renewal (i.e. exfoliates, scrubs…) your spray tan will last about 5 days. However, if you slow down the rate by using the right products (i.e. liquid soaps as opposed to bar soaps) in addition to a maintenance product, you can extend the life of your spray tan for up to 14 days!

When Showering:
Use a lotion or gel. Bar soaps tend to strip your skin of oils and accelerate exfoliation, which you do not want for the first week. Wash gently and do not scrub skin. Do not use loofah brushes, salt scrubs, face masks, or skin bleaches.

What to Avoid:
Avoid soaking in any water for an extended amount of time. Hot tubs, chlorinated pools, and the ocean will strip your tan quickly. Try using a waterproof sunscreen before entering the water. Waterproof products will help repel the water so it will not strip your spray tan.

Prolong:
To prolong your spray tan for up to 2 weeks, use a daily moisturizer with a hint of self tanning lotion. We HIGHLY recommend “Tinted Love”. This moisturizer has an anti-aging and skin firming complex, antioxidants, and vitamins to help hydrate your skin and has a great fragrance. Use it after each shower, just like a body lotion. Wash your hands afterwards. If you have fair skin, we recommend using it every other day. Discontinue use a few days before coming back for a new spray session.

DO NOT:
Do not have eyebrows or any other body part waxed after your spray tan session. Do not get a manicure or pedicure for the first 24 hours following your session. Do not use retinols or exfoliates on your skin. These products include Retina A, glycolic acid, fruit acids, benzoic peroxides, astringents, microdermabrasion kits, and sugar/salt scrubs. Professional Teeth whitening can provide whiter teeth in 1 hour or less. Depending on the type of discolorations you have, customers average 2 to 6 shades using one to three sessions. During each 20 minute session, gel is applied to your teeth and your teeth are exposed to a special LED light that activates the peroxide to lighten stains due to coffee, tea, and smoking.
